AfroTech Festival

SPATIAL DESIGN | WORKSHOP

If you could design your own communities and cities better, how would you envision them to be? We're giving you the tools and challenging you to create and play with your future realities.

AfroTech Fest is a tech festival by and for Black and Mixed-race people of African and Carribean heritage in which seeks to create intentional and alternative spaces. We curated an exciting programme for the young people, children & their parents to curate their own virtual areas highlighting environmental and sustainable impacts in Brixton’s Windrush Square. Enabling them to co-curate a future where they can ‘play’, we designed a new virtual space that caters to their needs.

ROLE

AfroTech Festival | 2017

If you could design your own communities and cities better, how would you envision them to be?

We're giving you the tools and challenging you to create and play with your future realities.

We mapped out Brixton’s Windrush Square to develop an immersive experience of the space to provide agency and empowerment to young people to enable them to create live elements into the space. By integrating these designs, the young children were able to analyse and suggest a colourful playscape to enhance the space making it child friendly.
